Are We There Yet?
We are booked and ready for the next country!! . . .almost.
We are in the middle of packing and cleaning and we are super excited. Let’s get Roamin’!
Ken getting his vaccines updated.
Earlier this week we updated our flu shots and covid boosters. However, we just found out that the country we’re heading to requires all travelers coming from Panama to have a Yellow-Fever vaccine before entry. Cool! No Prob, right?
We called an UBER and set out on this hot and humid morning for a 25 minute ride to the ONLY place in Panama City that administers & certifies the Yellow Fever Vaccination, (the Health Department in Corozol), only to be turned away because we were wearing SHORTS!
THESE shorts are a problem?
Not to be defeated, we called another UBER to take us to the nearest mall (Albrook), where we each quickly bought a pair of joggers, grabbed a quick bite since we hadn’t had breakfast, and of course, COFFEE!
We Had to hurry because the Health Department closes at 1:00 PM. So we got another UBER from the mall back to the Health department-we’re in business!
This time, they let us in and directed us to reception, where they asked for our original passports (no photocopies this time) and our residency cards. Having all of this allows us to only pay $20, whereas travelers without residency have to pay $100.
As the proud owners of brand new pants we gladly provided all the required documentation only to find out that they only accept cash. CASH! We did not have cash. Nor did we have time to get another UBER to run us to the bank so we could get ANOTHER UBER to bring us back to the Health Department before they closed.
So, woven between hair appointments, dentist appointments, final inspection on the Condo among other last minute wrap-ups, we shall don our new pants with cash in hand, and get this done.
Through all of that, lessons have been learned and NOTHING has taken away the excitement of heading to the next country!
